Contact usThe course runs over 5 days and has approximately a 60/40 distribution of theoretical review in the classroom and practical exercises in KRM's pump laboratory. Course participants are divided into groups and rotate in a system - supervised by several experienced instructors.

The goal
After completing the training, participants will have the knowledge and skills to:
- Understand fundamental physical principles related to pumps
- Understand different types of pumps, their function, and operating principles
- Read and interpret pump curves and apply them in practical troubleshooting
- Perform practical troubleshooting on various pumps and pumping systems
- Understand seals, including types, functions, and operating principles
- Select appropriate seals and carry out correct installation in pumps

The course consists of theory and practical exercises in the pump laboratory covering the following topics:
- Fluids and physical laws
- Positive displacement pumps
- Centrifugal pumps
- Pump curves
- System curves
- Pump regulation
- Pump installation and troubleshooting
- Pump bearings: assembly, disassembly, and lubrication
- Pump alignment
- Seals: structure and function
- Seal types and installation
- Seals in operation: leaks and troubleshooting
- API plans/systems
The course concludes with a written exam to document achieved competence.

The training is adapted to the equipment used and complies with the requirements of the Norwegian Regulations concerning the Performance of Work, Sections 10-1 and 10-2, including associated guidance notes.
