Target

After completing the course, the participants must have acquired the necessary knowledge about safe behavior and work in potentially explosive areas, so that they are able to carry out their work (non-electrical work) in a safe manner in potentially explosive areas.

Target group

Executive personnel (non-electrical workers) in the petroleum industry.

Personnel in mechanical trades, Insulation, scaffolding, surface trades, process operator, other operating personnel and other personnel who have work that may affect the safety of electrical installations in connection with, for example, high-pressure washing, sandblasting, painting etc.

  • Inspection and maintenance

The course is based on EN ISO 80079-36, EN ISO 80079-37, EN 1127-1, EN IEC 60079-14, EN IEC 60079-17, ATEX directive.

In order for the participant to be considered sufficiently qualified to work independently with mechanical installations in potentially explosive areas, the person concerned must be able to document practical training in addition to this theoretical training. The practical training can, for example, be carried out in your own business.

Regulations

The Norwegian Maritime Directorate, DSB and Norwegian Oil and Gas refer to NFEA EX-KOMP:2021 guidelines for training personnel who carry out work in Ex areas. The ex-competence should be updated at least every 5 years.

Prior knowledge: Completed the e-learning course "Ex-safety and awareness-raising - the petroleum industry".
