Practical Training

Practical training is not required prior to completing this e-learning course.

Practical training to be carried out and documented afterward by the employer or another competent person, in accordance with Section 10-1 of the Regulation on the Performance of Work.

An experienced crane operator or slinger (signal person) will have the necessary qualifications and competence to document slinging practice.

Goal

The course will provide you with basic theoretical knowledge on the correct selection, inspection, use, and maintenance of various types of lifting accessories. (Regulation concerning the Performance of Work, Sections 10-1 and 10-2).

Target group

Personnel who work as slingers (signal persons) and use lifting accessories, and who give signals to the crane operator.

  • Slinging and center of gravity
  • Lifting tables
  • Fibre slings
  • Chain slings
  • Wire rope slings
  • Shackles
  • Eyebolts and eye nuts
  • Signals and hand signals – load control
  • Safety regulations
  • Practice exercises
  • Final assessment/test

Prerequisites

The course meets the requirements for basic theoretical safety training for slingers and signalers, in accordance with Sections 10-1 and 10-2 of the (Regulation concerning the Performance of Work).
