Safety Course for Helicopter Operations
This course has been developed in collaboration with the Norwegian Helicopter Safety Forum (FsF) and the Norwegian Helicopter Safety Cooperation Forum (SFi), which is responsible for ensuring that the professional content of the course is updated at all times in accordance with current regulations. This course provides a thorough introduction to safety in helicopter operations. You will learn about applicable regulations and roles, safe movement around helicopters, communication and hand signals, preparation of load and landing sites, and the handling, securing, and slinging of loads. The course also covers work under challenging conditions, including the handling of dangerous goods, winter operations, and changing weather conditions, as well as reporting and the principles of Just Culture.
The goal
The objective is to ensure that everyone involved, from clients to field personnel, has a solid understanding of roles, procedures, and risks to enable safe work in and around the helicopter. Upon completion of the course, you will be qualified for the role of Task Specialist and can perform specialized tasks during helicopter operations, including site preparation, load handling, and communication with the crew. The course also provides clients with insight into the framework for safe operations.
The target group
The course is relevant for clients and contracting parties who need to understand the framework of helicopter operations, as well as skilled personnel such as electricians, line workers, and construction workers who operate in the field with helicopter support. It is also aimed at ground personnel responsible for load handling, preparing landing sites, or receiving helicopters, as well as personnel transported to work sites in connection with lifting operations.
